The general committee of the Lansford American Legion Ambulance Drive, meeting in special session this week, made plans for a brief ceremony to turn over to the borough the newly purchased Superior ambulance.
The ambulance, purchased at a price of $12,860 fully equipped, will be ready for delivery on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. James Reese will leave Lansford sometime on Sunday for Lima, Ohio, and will return with the ambulance sometime on Tuesday.
As the couple has devoted many hours to this worthy community project, the committee was unanimous in selecting them to make the trip to bring the new vehicle to Lansford where council President Joseph Macenka will accept it on behalf of the community.
