Fern Ridge State Police — DUI

State police at Fern Ridge recently reported on several DUI cases.

• A 35-year-old Reading man, who police did not identify, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop made by state police at 3:12 a.m. July 5 at the intersection of Route 115 and Timothy Drive in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was driving a 2002 Chevrolet that they saw crossing over the white fog line and centerline designator multiple times.

Police said after they stopped the vehicle the driver showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, where he consented to a chemical test of his blood.

• Wayne Groff, 30, of Albrightsville, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop at 2:17 a.m. June 24 at the intersection of Route 940 and Moseywood Road in Kidder Township.

Police said he was driving a 1999 Ford F-15 when he was stopped and found to be under the influence of alcohol.

• Janiece Melendez, 45, of Tobyhanna, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after state police stopped a vehicle she was driving at 1:45 a.m. for a Motor Vehicle Code violation.

Police said they pulled over the 2019 Jeep Cherokee after which time they determined the woman was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was taken to the Monroe County DUI Center for a blood test.
