Immaculata University announces that five rising sophomores received scholarships from the Business Advisory Board. The scholarships provide financial support for deserving students studying within the business program.
Miranda Chinchar of Tamaqua was one of the students who will each receive a $1,200 scholarship for the 2020-21 academic year.
“I am continually impressed by the caliber of student that Immaculata produces,” states Gwen Menton Cantarera ’07, chair of the scholarship committee. “While moving through the scholarship selection process the board’s decision is often difficult as all applicants not only maintain a high GPA, but are involved in multiple extracurricular activities including athletics, campus clubs, part-time jobs and volunteer work. It’s evident by the glowing recommendations we receive that these applicants make a positive and lasting impact.”
By advising and supporting Immaculata’s Business, Accounting and Economics Department in achieving its mission, the Business Advisory Board continuously improves the quality of the educational experience provided to Immaculata’s students.
One example of this commitment is the board’s mentorship program, which all scholarship applicants participate in. This program pairs each student with a business person in the community. The mentors provide guidance as the students navigate choices they are making today that will impact their future careers.
