All-you-can-eat breakfast

An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Menu includes bacon, sausage, home fries, ham, hash, s.o.s., pancakes, toast, cereal, eggs. Also orange juice, milk, coffee, tea and cocoa. This is open to the public and smoke free.

Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Bowmanstown, is now holding one combined service each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. There are three options of worshipping: Worship in the sanctuary, must wear a mask, have temperature check, and social distancing required; you may worship in the parking lot and tune to 104.3; or you may join on Facebook Live. All services are led by Pastor Rob Timlin Sr.

Every Wednesday at 7 p.m. is “Prayer & Praise Service” with the same three options as Sunday worship.

July’s Mission is “ABC” Food Pantry. They are asking for canned goods, canned meats, soups, paper products, detergent, dish soap, and personal hygiene items. Please drop off at the church and it will be distributed to anyone with a need within and outside our church and also to the Palmerton, Lehighton and Slatington pantries.

Micah’s Backpack Program is still helping to feed Palmerton students with a need. The program is now helping 30 students. If you would like to contribute food or money to purchase food, please contact the church office at 610-852-2805.

Palmerton Area Library

The Palmerton Area Library is resuming regular hours. All library services are available by appointment only. Hours are Monday and Tuesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To make an appointment for book browsing, computer use, faxing or photocopying, please call the library at 610-826-3424. Curbside service will also continue. Pickup times are flexible, please call for details. Masks are required in the library.

Palmerton Swim Team

The Palmerton Swim Team is for ages 5-18. Do you love to swim? Are you interested in improving your technique and endurance? Come join the Palmerton Swim Team for this year’s modified program: six weeks of conditioning, endurance and technique. The program is July 13 through Aug. 20 from 6-8 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Come as often or as few times as you like. Sign up fee is $25 and you must hold a season pass. Sign up in person at the pool during practice sessions, which have now begun.

Jerusalem UCC

Sunday worship services at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville, begin at 9 a.m. in the church grove. Bring a lawn chair and face masks are required. Families may be seated together accordingly. Refreshments will not be available, but feel free to bring your own. Restrooms will be available. You also can remain in your car and listen to the service on 95.5 FM.

In case of inclement weather the service will be held in the sanctuary. You can remain in your car for this service as well. For information, call the church office at 610-681-4412 or visit the website at www.jerusalemucc.org.

Carnival Run

Zinc City Motorcycle Club, 10485 Interchange Road, Kresgeville, will hold a Carnival Run on Sunday. This will be a motorcycle ride with carnival games. The kitchen at the club will be open before and after the ride. Sign in is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is $10 per person.

Park concerts

The Bandstand Committee of the Palmerton Concourse Club has announced the following Sunday in the Palmerton Borough Park Concerts. Aug. 2, Second to None Band; Aug. 9, Steel Creek Band; Aug. 16, Palmerton Band; and Aug. 25, The Villagers. All concerts begin at 7 p.m.
