Part-time police officers in Walnutport will see a raise in salary.

Borough council unanimously agreed on Thursday to a 25-cent per hour increase for part-timers.

Council’s action comes several months after borough police Chief Pete Wayda broached the idea of the borough’s part-time officers getting a raise in salary.

Wayda said earlier this year that his part-time officers hadn’t received a raise in two years.

That, he previously said, has made it difficult to retain part-time officers.
