Fern Ridge Police report on domestic incidents
State police at Fern Ridge reported on several incidents investigated by troopers:
• Two Carbon County residents were cited for an incident on June 19 at 12:30 p.m.
Troopers said Brianna Wasyliw, 18, of Lansford, appeared at the barracks to report a domestic incident that occurred in a residence on Minisink Trail, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. She reported an altercation occurred between her and Vincent Bosco, 20, also of Lansford. She had a minor injury to her lower lip. Bosco was not present with her.
Wasyliw was issued a citation for harassment - physical contact; while Bosco will be charged with harassment - physical contact, troopers said.
• Troopers said on June 15 at 11:12 p.m. on the 500 block of Hamlin Drive, Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, Amilka Chavez, 34, of Savannah, Georgia, slapped a 35-year-old woman, also from Savannah, in the face. In retaliation, Jorge Chavez, 19, of Effort, threw a small log, smashing the windshield out of a 2009 Honda Odyssey, of a 28-year-old female from Effort.
As a result of these actions Amilka Chavez was charged with harassment and Jorge Chavez was charged with criminal mischief.
• On June 14 at 11:08 a.m. troopers responded to Valerio’s Pizza, 2702 Route 903, Penn Forest Township, for a report of criminal mischief. On scene troopers were told Jason Neace, 43, of Blakeslee, entered the restaurant to use the rest room and caused damage to the toilet. Charges are pending. Damages were estimated at $10.
• On June 20 at 9:10 p.m. troopers received a complaint about a vehicle continuously driving down Whiteman Lane at Teddyuscung Trail in Penn Forest Township, sounding its horn. Multiple complaints have been received about the vehicle, troopers added.
As a result Donald Krauss, 75, of Albrightsville, was charged with disorderly conduct.
• On June 20 about 9:30 p.m. troopers received a complaint of a domestic incident at a residence along Pattern Circle in Penn Forest Township, between a father and son. Both admitted striking each other, the son head-butted and punched his father, the father pushed and punched his son. As a result, two men, ages 67 and 35, were charged with harassment - physical contact. Troopers declined to identify the suspects.
• On June 17 at 1:16 p.m. troopers responded to a residence along Bradstreet Circle, Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, for a domestic dispute. A 50-year-old woman related her husband, a 50-year-old man who troopers declined to identify, was arguing with her son when she attempted to break it up. The male grabbed the woman’s wrist and twisted it, then continued to argue with her and the son. He left the residence prior to the arrival of police.
After speaking with the suspect, troopers charged him with harassment.
• On June 17 about 10 a.m. troopers responded to a residence along Log Cabin Lane in Chestnuthill Township. On scene a 53-year-old woman reported she was punched and slapped in the face several times by a 23-year-old woman, who troopers declined to identify. Troopers spoke to the suspect on the phone and she admitted to the acts. The 23-year-old was charged with harassment - physical contact.
• Troopers stopped a 2019 Ford Fusion along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County, at 3:29 a.m. on June 13 for two traffic violations. The driver, identified as Rasheem Vann, 31, of Edwardsville, told troopers he had a pound of marijuana under the front driver’s seat. Police searched the vehicle and seized 1.5 pounds of marijuana.
Vann and two passengers, Joseph Wheeler, 28, of Kingston, and Devin Portis, 30, of Edwardsville, were taken into custody, possessed and released. Charges will be filed.
• Police said they seized 25 bags of suspected heroin after a traffic stop they made at 8:05 p.m. June 23 at the intersection of Hunt Trail and Nathan Way in Penn Forest Township.
Police charged a 51-year-old Albrightsville man who was driving the 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Police said after they made the stop, they suspected criminal activity which led to the man admitting he had the drugs in his possession. Police did not release his name.
• Police charged a 39-year-old Hanover Township woman with theft by deception after she failed to deliver goods she sold via the Facebook Market Place.
Police said they were called at 9:08 p.m. June 20 to Toll Road, Chestnuthill Township, where a 54-year-old man from Easton reported he was in contact with the woman through the Market Place. He agreed to purchase a Sony Play Station 4 for $250. Police said the man related he forwarded the money to the woman but then lost contact with her and has not been able to obtain the Play Station after having made multiple attempts to do so. Her name was not released.
• Ethan Bradberry, 27, of Brooklyn, New York, was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police after an incident at 6:15 p.m. June 25 on Interstate 80 eastbound in Kidder Township.
Police said they tried to stop him in a 2020 Volkswagen Passat but he fled the scene.
• Police cited Richard Goldrosen, 74, of Effort, for false alarms/dialing devices after they were summoned to a Chestnuthill Township residence at 12:42 p.m. June 25.
Police said it was the eighth incident at the residence since October 2019.
