Schuylkill Haven state police report on incidents
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following incidents:
• A 30-year-old man from Port Clinton was cited for harassment - physical contact, after he and his girlfriend, a 22-year-old woman, also from Port Clinton, engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical when the female attempted to leave the residence. The incident occurred on May 21 at 2:12 p.m. at Penn and Broad streets, in Port Clinton.
• On June 1 at 1:23 a.m. troopers responded to Route 183 in Wayne Township for a domestic incident. A 35-year-old woman from Schuylkill Haven, who troopers declined to identify, engaged in a verbal dispute with a 44-year-old man from Schuylkill Haven. The altercation turned physical with the suspect slashing the victim with an 18-inch machete causing a 4-inch cut to his forearm. The victim left the scene before the arrival of troopers to seek medical treatment. The suspect was taken into custody and charged. She was arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
• A 34-year-old man from Iselin, New Jersey, who troopers declined to identify, was arrested for driving under the influence on May 22 at 5:55 p.m. along Route 183, in Wayne Township. Troopers said on the date and time listed the suspects’ vehicle, a 2004 Toyota Camry, left its lane of travel and struck six people, four of which were state troopers.
• A 17-year-old male from Pottsville was charged with harassment - physical contact. He was arrested for an incident on May 31 about 11:20 p.m. along Seltzer Road in Norwegian Township, during a domestic dispute. The victim is a 34-year-old male from Pitman, Schuylkill County.
• On May 23 at 10:02 p.m. troopers responded to 201 Riverside Drive in Cressona borough for a report of criminal mischief. It was learned during a fight, Dean Krammes, 31, of Cressona, damaged the passenger side mirror of the vehicle belonging to a 27-year-old female relative. He was cited for criminal mischief.
• On May 23 at 12:14 a.m. troopers made a traffic stop along Bunting Street and Bricky Road, in Branch Township. The driver, a 27-year-old driver from Tremont, who troopers declined to identify, was found under the influence and placed under arrest for DUI.
• Gerald Murphy, 42, of Kaska, was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after they responded to an incident at 3:42 a.m. June 12 at 1456 Route 61 in North Manheim Township.
Police said they were summoned there to investigate a report of a suspicious person and found Murphy to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
