Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church and the Summit Hill Heritage Center will again host the summer food service program in Coaldale, Lansford and Summit Hill.
Beginning June 29 and ending Aug. 14, the food distribution will be twice weekly on Monday and Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Monday distribution will be for Monday and Tuesday with Wednesday distribution for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Distribution will be on the back lawn at the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church for the Coaldale and Summit Hill children.
Lansford children will receive their lunches at the Townhouses in Lansford.
This year, the group is asking the public for monetary donations to help defray the cost of the “takeout style” distribution.
All meals will be distributed outside due to the ongoing COVID-19 virus concerns. The group will also accept donations of foods and takeout containers that can be used to prepare for the children.
Monetary donations can be sent to Summit Hill Heritage Center, 1 W. Hazard St., Summit Hill, PA 18250. Checks can be made out to SHHC.
For food and takeout containers, contact Deb Ranck at 484-425-0255 or the Rev. Ruthann Christopher at 570-645-5524.
This year we want to thank the following for their donations: Carbon County Community Foundation, private donors from the community, Leiby’s Farm Market for help with eggs and vegetables, PLS Deli for their help with products for our children’s lunches, and Second Harvest.
