Agreement defaults
Branch Banking and Trust Co., Lumberton, North Carolina, filed an action against Matthew Cline, 32 W. Walter St., Summit Hill, alleging he defaulted on a credit agreement. Sought is $20,115.99 plus interest, costs and fees.
Branch Banking and Trust Co. filed an action against Michael Honey, 1548 Smithlane Road, Lehighton, alleging he defaulted on a credit agreement. Sought is $18,830.75 plus interest, costs and fees.
Credit defaults
The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts.
LVNV Funding, Greenville, South Carolina, filed an action against Mark Verzino, 6865 Forest Inn Road, Aquashicola, seeking $2,250.57
Midland Funding, Philadelphia, filed the following actions: Patricia Wolf, Box 971, Albrightsville, seeking $1,507.80; and Colleen Gombert, 43 Berwick St., Beaver Meadows, seeking $3,251.40.
Dog attack
A volunteer at the Carbon County Animal Shelter, 63 Broad St., Nesquehoning, has filed suit for damages against the organization over a dog attack at the shelter. Noreen and Darvin Coffin, 2432 Hemlock Drive, Lehighton, filed the action, also naming an employee of the shelter, Zachary Thomas, as a defendant.
The suit states that Noreen Coffin arrived at the shelter on Sept. 17, 2019, to do volunteer work. When she arrived, Thomas was walking a pit bull dog named Parker. The suit states the dog was known to have vicious propensities, and was dangerous and prone to harm someone.
As she exited her vehicle and began to walk to the shelter, the dog jumped and snapped at her face. As a result she asked Thomas to take the dog away. The suit continues, “simultaneously and without warning whatsoever the dog viciously and brutally” attacked Coffin, causing serious injuries to her, which are detailed in the suit. Negligence is alleged and sought are damages on multiple counts in “excess of the sum requiring compulsory arbitration.”
Loan default
Sun East Federal Credit Union, 4500 Pennell Road, Aston, Delaware County, filed a civil action against Chase Andrew and Erin Leigh Brown, 1030 Hickory Road, Palmerton, alleging they defaulted on an automobile loan. Sought is $11,834.45 plus interest, costs and fees.
