Several Carbon County fire companies responded to a dwelling fire with entrapment this afternoon along McKuen Way in Towamensing Trails, Penn Forest Township.

When firefighters arrived on scene they found smoke showing from the house, with a woman trapped on the third floor. Firemen were able to rescue the victim and bring her to safety.

The woman was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics and transported to an area hospital.

Fire companies from Penn Forest No. 1 and No. 2, Albrightsville, Lake Harmony and Franklin Township responded to the scene. State police from the Fern Ridge barracks had troopers at the scene.
