There may be no Heritage Weekend this year, but that won’t prevent a fireworks display from being held on Independence Day in Lehighton.

Councilman Ryan Saunders, president of the Lehighton Downtown Initiative, informed borough council on Monday that the LDI plans to hold the event.

The fifth annual Lehighton fireworks sponsored by Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank will be held at 10 p.m. July 4.

Last year, the Lehighton Borough Parks & Recreation Board partnered with the LDI to host the 2019 Lehighton Heritage Weekend over a two-day period.
