Northampton Community College virtually recognized its most outstanding students during its Annual Awards Convocation held on April 29.

The following local students and their awards are:

• Rashawna Chambers of Albrightsville: Hites Family Foundation Higher Education Endowment Scholarship, Honors Program Award, Annual PACES Scholarship (Pan African Caucus Educational Scholarship)

• Matthew Gillenkirk of Saylorsburg: Nancy A. Taylor Endowed Scholarship, Sandra Preis and George Jain-Cocks Endowed Mathematics Award

• Connor Knowlan of New Ringgold: Norman R. Roberts Theatre Scholarship Fund Award

• Laura Rex of Walnutport: 2020 All Pennsylvania Academic Team, 2020 Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholar, Outstanding Achievement in Chemistry, Pearson Education Award for Biology

• Klarissa Mertz of Lehighton: PA Funeral Director’s Award

• Jason Allesch of Kunkletown: 2020 All Pennsylvania Academic Teams
