A motorcyclist was injured Saturday afternoon in a crash along Route 248 in Carbon County.

The crash occurred at 3 p.m. as the biker was traveling west at the Bowmanstown exit. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Palmerton ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center.

The westbound lanes of Route 248 were shut down at the Palmerton exit. State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
