Road work this week
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announces the following road work this week, but be advised that road work schedules may change as needed during COVID-19 mitigation or due to changes in the weather:
Carbon
• Bowmanstown, White Street crack sealing between East White Street and Fireline Road, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; East White Street crack sealing between White Street and Bank Street, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday.
• Jim Thorpe, Center Avenue crack sealing between Route 209 and Pine Avenue, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday; Route 209 pothole patching between Center Avenue and Route 93, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
• Eastside/Kidder Township, Route 940 lane restriction with flagging in both directions between Luzerne County line and Monroe County line, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
• Kidder Township, Route 903/Highway to Adventure crack sealing between Route 534 and Monroe County line, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Lehigh
• Upper Macungie, I-78 East eastbound lane restriction between Berks County line and Northampton County line, 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday.
• Weisenberg/Lynn, Route 863 lane restriction with flagging between I-78 and Route 143, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
• Bethlehem, Route 22 West brush cutting between Airport Road and Fullerton Avenue, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
• Whitehall, Route 22 East watch for stopped traffic between Cedar Crest Boulevard and 15th Street, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Monroe
• Stroud Township, I-80 inspection between Exit 304 (Route 209) and Exit 307 (Route 191), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
• Multiple townships: Route 402 pothole patching between Route 209 and Pike County line, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday; I-80 West bridge cleaning between Exit 302 (Route 611) and Exit 293 (I-380), 3-11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; I-80 West bridge deck washing between Exit 293 (I-380) and Exit 284 (Route 115), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
• Tunkhannock Township, I-80 East spray patching between Carbon County line and Exit 284 (Route 115), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
Northampton
• Palmer, Bethlehem, Easton: Route 22 be alert for slow-moving vehicles for herbicide application between Lehigh County line and New Jersey State line, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
• Various municipalities: Route 33 be alert for slow-moving vehicles for herbicide application between I-78 and Monroe County line, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
• Lower Saucon, Bethlehem, Wilson, Geldon: I-78 be alert for slow-moving vehicles for herbicide application, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
• Bethlehem Township, Route 33 shoulder work/bridge cleaning/sweeping between I-78 and Route 22, 5-11 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
• Hanover Township: Route 22 West pothole patching between Route 191 and Route 512, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
• Bethlehem Township, Route 22 East pothole patching between Route 33 and 25th Street, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
• Beth Township, Palmer, Plainfield Township: Route 33 sweeping between Route 22 and Northampton County line, 5-11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
Schuylkill
• West Penn Township and Tamaqua Borough, Route 309/West Penn Pike/Chestnut Street drainage between Route 443/Clamtown Road and Spruce Street. Lane restrictions to replace drainage inlets. Expect delays and please use caution driving through the work zone. Crews will work on Route 309 North first, and after approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks, crews will shift to working on Route 309 South for another 1.5 to 2 weeks. Job begins Wednesday and expected to be completed by June 24.
