Franklin Township board of supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:
• Approved a declaration of disaster for the COVID-19 closures until Carbon County goes to the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s reopening plan.
• Approved a revision of the township’s 2017 Community Development Block Grant funds so that $40,003 can be applied to Phase 1 of the Red Hill Road drainage improvements project.
• Adopted a resolution related to extension of real estate, fire hydrant tax, capital building tax, per capita, and occupation taxes discount period and waiving penalties until Nov. 1.
• Awarded bids for road materials to Lehigh Asphalt.
• Awarded bids for seal coating on various roads within the township to A & S Asphalt.
• Announced there will be a change in garbage collection pickup for the Memorial Day holiday, as Monday’s pickup has been changed to Tuesday.
• Announced that the township’s Recycling Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 11.
• Reminded residents to complete their 2020 Census forms.
