Lebanon Valley College announces departmental awards

Lebanon Valley College announced departmental awards for more than 100 students for academic achievement in the natural sciences, social sciences or humanities during its virtual spring Inquiry celebration.

Local students include:

• George Hegedus of New Ringgold, a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in music education and music, received the Reynaldo Rovers Memorial Award.

• Huntre Keip of Summit Hill, a graduate of Panther Valley High School, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English and political science, received The John and Carol Kearney Senior Prize in Journalism & Communications.

• Patrick McMullen of Tamaqua, a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in biology, received The Susan E. Verhoek and Stephen E. Williams Prize in Plant Science.

• Kyle Patrick of Tamaqua, a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology, received the Owen A. Moe Biochemistry Award.

• Adam Salazer of McAdoo, a graduate of Marian Catholic High School, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in accounting, received the Achievement Scholarship Award in Accounting.
