Two hundred and twenty people attended the 21st Annual Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner last evening in the gymnasium of the Tamaqua Area Junior High School.
The annual Citizenship Award was presented to Willis R. Parnell, retired banking official of Hometown, in recognition of his prolonged and outstanding service to the community in the fields of human services, industrial promotion and civic development. The award was presented by Ted Block, a past president of the chamber.
The dinner committee consisted of Marguerite Feathers, William Moser, Thomas Breslin, Ruth Essington, Richard Rees and William Gillespie.
