Thank a front-line worker for their sacrifice

The Times News is inviting the community to pay tribute to front-line workers serving during this coronavirus pandemic.

Readers can send them a message through our website and messages will be published in May.

Doctors, nurses, nurse’s aides and all health care workers are putting themselves at risk every day. Where would we be without postal workers and truck drivers delivering our needs? Grocery store and other essential workers help us in many ways. Police officers, EMTs, pharmacists and garbage haulers are just a few other choices.

“It has become quite apparent that people who work in health care and other essential businesses have truly put themselves on the line so that we can continue to get access to health care, groceries, medication and other necessary services,” said Jen Benninger, advertising director.

“We are encouraging our readers to submit photos and messages of thanks to individuals who fall under this line of work.”

The Times News will print as many submissions as possible on May 9 on a special page for health care professionals and on May 16 for essential service providers.

Photos will also be placed into an online gallery at tnonline.com.

To submit your message, just go to tnonline.com and click on the contest tab.

The deadline for submissions is midnight April 28.
