Members of the Davis-Lawton-Yurko-Breslin-Bevich American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill, are planning to once again place American flags on the graves of veterans at the cemeteries located in Summit Hill and White Bear in anticipation of the Memorial Day observance.

No specific date for the placing of flags has been set, however, Legion officials point out that in some instances family members have removed the veterans’ markers/flag holders from graves.

The veterans markers/flag holders allow the Legionnaires and volunteers to identify the graves of veterans. Family members who removed them are asked to put them back on the graves so those placing the flags can easily identify a veteran’s grave.
