Results of the first election of Memorial Tree honorees were announced at the April meeting of the Summit Hill Historical Society, sponsor of the project.
The project will recognize individuals who made significant contributions to the hilltop community and its people.
Named to have trees planted in their memory were educators Francis Gerber and Blodwyn Llewellyn and well-known historian Ruth Kotzmoyer.
The trio will join the inaugural class of 2003 that included Josiah White, Erskine Hazard and Philip Ginter.
The trees will be placed in various parks following the Summit Hill Shade Tree Commission’s spring planting in Memorial Park.
