A Schuylkill County man has been charged with simple assault and harassment following an incident that occurred on April 9.

State police at Frackville said troopers responded to a residence along Buck Mountain Road in Barnesville, Mahanoy Township, about 2:30 a.m. for a report of an assault.

On scene troopers learned that Jonathan Kechula, 45, had struck a 21-year-old man in the head with a wooded object during an argument at the residence. Charges were filed.
