A resident in Carbon County housing who contracted the coronavirus has since been cleared by health officials, according to an official from Carbon County Housing Authority.
Paula Fougeray, executive director of the authority, said the case was confirmed in mid-March. The resident was quarantined in their apartment, and Fougeray said other tenants were told to follow social distancing and health guidelines offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The state’s health department and the resident’s physician have deemed that they are no longer contagious, Fougeray said.
There have been no new confirmed cases in the senior living facility where the resident stays, which holds 50 units. Fougeray feels “confident” that the spread has been mitigated, but added that this virus is new.
State and local authorities are still learning how to deal with it.
