The Wilmer Fashions factory in Lehighton, one of several dress factories owned by the Merluzzi family of Lehighton, will be moved to the firm’s Bowmanstown operations - Helmer Fashions - it has been announced.

Carl Merluzzi, manager of the Lehighton plant and one of the owners, said today all of the sewing, pressing, finishing and shipping will be done in one building in Bowmanstown.

He advised all of the cutting for the company will be done at the Mary Ann factory in Jim Thorpe, where a sewing operation will continue.

Merluzzi said all of the employees at the Lehighton plant will be offered jobs in Bowmanstown.
