“It looks good for a new post office building in Lansford.”
Those were the words of a representative of the Post Office Department who visited Lansford this morning to examine the plot of land where a new post office will be built in the community, if and when it is approved.
Lansford Borough Council and other town officials have written numerous letters to high-ranking government officials, urging that a new post office be built in the town.
The post office department purchased a plot of ground on the northwest corner of Patterson and Tunnel streets some 20 years ago. To date, the lot remains the site of a family residence and used car lot.
