Jim Thorpe teen, 14, dies of injuries from ATV crash

A 14-year-old Jim Thorpe girl has died as a result of injuries from an all-terrain vehicle death.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s office said Lisa Napoletano was pronounced dead at 6:14 p.m. Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

Lisa was a freshman at Marian Catholic High School.

Her mother Melissa posted on Facebook: “Lisa was much more than my daughter she is my best friend, my first daughter and she is one of the strongest people I know.

“Lisa had a strong personality, which is part of what made her the amazing person she was. Her heart was so big and so full of love for her family and for her friends.

The crash occurred on March 18, in the area of Schoolhouse Road, north of Unionville Road, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

She was the passenger of an ATV that struck a tree and rolled over.

In addition to coroner’s office, the death is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police- Fern Ridge Barracks.

Her mother said a celebration of life is planned tentatively next month for her birthday, depending on the social distance restrictions.
