Tamaqua police reported the following incident:

• Sean M. Smyth, 47, of Lansford, was charged with bad checks that stem from an Oct. 30, 2019, incident. Reigel Fuel Oil LLC., delivered fuel oil at the request of Smyth in the amount of $250.00.

Reigel was notified on Jan. 8 that the check held and signed by Smyth was returned due to “not sufficient funds.”

Reigel informed Smyth about the bad check and later sent a certified letter to Smyth that a payment in full was required by Feb. 5, with an additional $50 returned check fee and a $10 certified mail fee. No payment was made.
