A look back: March 3, 1982

One hundred and four employees of the Ametek Westchester Plastics Division, Nesquehoning, who are members of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union Local 1808, Allentown, ratified a new three-year pact with the firm, according to Morris Molinero, plant manager, and Robert Williams, personnel manager.

Molinero said the contract calls for wage increases and improved benefits, including a new pension plan, additional holidays and vacation improvements.

The new pact succeeds the three-year plan inked in 1979 that was set to expire on March 15. In 1979, company employees took to the picket lines when a strike held up production for a six-week period.
