A look back: Feb. 29, 1980

The Rush Township Planning Commission received the preliminary plans of Hometown Housing Associates for the proposed 60-unit townhouses that would be placed near the J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills in Hometown.

Several residents of the Hometown section of the township voiced their opposition to these units, saying they are concerned with the extra burden that could be placed on the township, the type of people who could occupy the buildings and the extra burden if could cause the township police.

The plans will be held for review with the board and its engineer. Present were Chairwoman Margaret Krolick, Steve Kaczmarczyk Sr., James Segelia, Helen Noonan, Shirley Schock and Helen Schrepple.
