February 20, 2009 — Jim Thorpe wins its first district playoff game in 17 years by holding off Northern Lehigh by a 57-55 score in the quarterfinal round of their Class 3A matchup. Kysheem Lynch’s two free throws with 48 seconds to play prove to be the winning points. Lynch finishes with a game-high 19 points for the Olympians, who trail at halftime before taking the lead with an 18-11 third quarter. Rashid Epps tallies 12 points for the winners, coached by Brian Carroll, while Sam Lux adds 10. For the Bulldogs, Bobby Hahn tallies a team-high 15 points.
