Jim Thorpe Area School Superintendent John Rushefski said state police were called to Penn-Kidder Campus on Thursday to investigate an alleged threat.
The district sent a message to parents about the incident.
On Friday morning, Rushefski said, “We were informed of a discussion that revolves around an alleged threat received in a social media chat room.”
State police were notified to investigate the incident, he said.
“We will continue to follow all district protocol. Due to student confidentiality and the ongoing investigation with the state police, we are unable to comment any further on this alleged incident.”
