Weissport Borough Council officially accepted the resignation of former Secretary-Treasurer Jessica Ahner on Monday.
Ahner submitted her official letter of resignation on Jan. 23. President Arland Moyer said that the council will be considering at least two applications for the position during the next borough meeting.
In other news, the updated park lease agreement was approved. Organizations renting the park will now have to pay a $200 deposit; up to $100 will be returned to the renter after the event, after the deduction of fees such as electricity usage and cleanup.
Lisa and Keith House and pastor Sam Carey attended the meeting to update the borough on their ongoing plans for their “Help Your Neighborhood” day, which will happen sometime in April. The trio changed the name from the original title, “Help Your Neighbor,” in an effort to be “more inclusive” and garner “more community buy-in.”
Weissport Borough Council is still in the process of updating property and parking ordinances, the former of which should be finalized by the next meeting.
Councilwoman Linda Schoenberger and former Secretary-Treasurer Jessica Ahner were not in attendance.
