The Jim Thorpe girls clinched the Schuylkill League Division 1 championship with a victory over Blue Mountain on Monday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Blue Mountain-Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe clinched the Schuylkill league Division 1 title with a 68-27 rout of Blue Mountain.

Leading the Olympians (20-1; 13-0) were Olivia Smelas with 18 points, seven steals and six assists, and Leila Hurley with 17 points. Skyler Searfoss added eight points, seven assists and five steals

Abby Beam scored 11 points for the Eagles (12-9; 6-7).

Tamaqua jumped out to an early lead and went on to post a 52-38 Schuylkill League win over Lehighton.

Leading the Blue Raiders (16-4; 9-4), who built a 35-14 halftime advantage, was Emma Kuczynski with a game-high 22 points. Emily Titus added 12.

For the Indians (8-13; 4-9), Hailey Miller scored 13 points.

Pine Grove pulled away from Panther Valley to earn a 57-28 Schuylkill League win.

The Cardinals (10-10; 5-8) were led in scoring by Mikaila Donmoyer with a game-high 17 points. Erika Dubosky scored 14 points for PV (5-16; 0-13).

The Panthers (10-12) were led in scoring by Matt Campbell with 12 points. The Bears (8-14) received a game-high 24 points from Joel Contreras and 14 from Shelby Joyner.

Saucon Valley swept Tamaqua in a non-league meet.

The Panther boys prevailed 97-54, while the girls won 93-74.

Brianna Dumond was a double winner for the Tamaqua girls, capturing the 200 IM and 100 Fly, while Madelyn Jones won the 500 Free.

The Raider boys posted a win in the 400 free relay.
