State police at Lehighton are investigating a crash along Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township. The crash occurred at 8 p.m. Sunday as the driver of a car was traveling south and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

The car crossed the road entering the berm where it went down an embankment and hit a tree. The driver of the car was extricated from the wreckage by members of the Lower Towamensing fire company of Aquashicola. Three people occupied the car.

Aquashicola fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway north of Boyers Farm Road.
