Driver has medical emergency, hits pole, plows into house in Lansford

A driver was taken to the hospital from the scene of a crash Monday morning in Lansford.

The crash occurred as the driver, a 47-year-old man, was traveling south on Route 209 when he lost control. Lansford Police said investigating officers believe the driver suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.

The car drifted to the right entering Andrewsville Road, where it snapped off a utility pole, ripped up a guiderail and hit a stop sign.

The vehicle continued across several lawns, about 353 feet, before plowing into the front of a home.

No one was in the home at the time of the crash.

The driver was taken to St Luke’s Miners by Lehighton ALS.
