The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for Jan. 6-10 is:

Monday: Caprese pork chop, brown rice, broccoli, diced pears or Italian sandwich

Tuesday: Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, Lima beans, apple slices or salad with chicken

Wednesday: Baked fish, mac & cheese, stewed tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, Jello or Reuben sandwich

Thursday: Carrot ginger soup, teriyaki, rice, stir fry vegetables, melon or spinach salad

Friday: Stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes, green beans, apple slices or turkey wrap

The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced upcoming events for Jan. 6-17.

Scattergories on Jan. 6 at 11 a.m.; Nickel-Keeno on Jan. 7 at 11 a.m.; Poker-Keeno on Jan. 8 at 11 a.m.; Yahtzee on Jan. 9 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Jan. 10 at 10:45 a.m.

Sunshine Meeting on Jan. 13 at 10:15 a.m. followed by Trivia at 11 a.m.; Birthday Bingo on Jan. 14 at 10:45 a.m.; Penny Game on Jan. 15 at 11 a.m.; Your Choice of Games on Jan. 16 at 10 a.m.; Cards on Jan. 17 at 10 a.m.

Meed’s Memorial

Meed’s Memorial United Methodist Church, 126 W. Catawissa St., has announced the following schedule at the church.

Sunday services will be held at 11 a.m. nursery and children’s Sunday school are available during the service.

The church also hosts a clothing ministry from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Hometown Heroes banners

The Nesquehoning UVO and the Nesquehoning Historical Society announce the opening of the 2020 Hometown Heroes banner program. “We look forward to honoring our veterans, living and deceased, as well as active duty military men and women from our hometown,” the group said in a release.

Applications may be picked up at the Nesquehoning VFW, 300 E. Center St., and are due no later than Feb. 1.
