Tamaqua’s Brayden Knoblauch hit a scoring milestone in Monday’s game against Pottsville.

In other action, the Palmerton boys basketball team, the Jim Thorpe and Tamaqua girls basketball teams, and the Northwestern wrestling team picked up wins.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Tamaqua-Pottsville

Pottsville edged Tamaqua for a 45-40 Schuylkill League win.

The Blue Raiders’ Brayden Knoblauch recorded a game-high 18 points – including the 1,000th of his career – while Lucas Gregoire finished with 15 points. Knoblauch reached the milestone at the 7:15 mark of the first quarter, becoming the 14th boys basketball player in school history to accomplish the feat.

Mason Barnes paced the Tide with 15 points, while Raeff Dicello added 10.

Kody Kratzer’s clutch performance in overtime lifted Palmerton to a 50-44 Colonial League victory over Salisbury.

Kratzer, who went 7-for-7 from the foul line in the extra period, finished with a game-high 28 points for the Bombers, while Owen Buck scored 10.

Treyce Weber had 13 points for the Falcons.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Tamaqua-Nativity

A strong finish helped Tamaqua turn back Nativity, 56-45.

Emma Kuczynski and Emily Titus scored 17 and 16 points, respectively, for the Blue Raiders, who used a 10-1 run to start the fourth quarter to take a 48-40 lead and control of the game.

Sam Heenan scored a game-high 25 points for the Golden Girls, who led 39-38 after the third quarter.

A 20-point third quarter propelled Jim Thorpe to a 59-30 Schuylkill League victory over Pottsville.

The Olympians’ Leila Hurley netted a game-high 20 points, while Skyler Searfoss and Olivia Smelas followed with 17 and 14, respectively.

Julia Kowalski led the Tide with 12 points.

Jim Thorpe improves to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the league.

A 28-point opening quarter sparked Tri-Valley to a 57-42 win over Panther Valley.

Gianna Poletti recorded 18 points for the Bulldogs, while Autumn Connell chipped in with 17. Faith Colahan also finished with double figures, scoring 13 points.

Erika Dubosky netted a game-high 22 points for the Panthers, while Sera Robin contributed 12.
