Zion Stone Church

The outreach ministry of our church has been very active this month. We began on Dec. 8 with our Sunday school Christmas Program and a collection of gifts for Bethany Children’s Home in Womelsdorf. The Youth Group went caroling in the area on Dec. 14. In addition, we “adopted” several patients of Seton Manor by providing gifts, and made up goodie bags for residents of the fifth floor of St. Luke’s Coaldale and Hometown Nursing Home. We wish to thank the many people who donated their gifts and their time to show Jesus’ love to their community.

There are several special services being held in the next few weeks. There is a Saturday service on Dec. 21 (light meal at 4 p.m., service at 5 p.m.). The fourth Sunday of Advent will be celebrated on Dec. 22 at 9 a.m. On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 there will be services at 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. A very special Music Sunday will be held on Dec. 29, featuring the musical talent of many local members. Calvary Lewistown

The Rev. Susan Moore will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes are held at 9:15 a.m. Christmas candlelight service at 6:30 p.m.

Activities for the week include: Thursday, Dec. 19, Blue Christmas service; Dec. 21, Christmas caroling beginning at 4 p.m. followed by refreshments; Dec. 29 Christmas cantata by community choir, 6:30 p.m.

Bethany EC

The Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. worship services this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Sunday life groups meet at 9:30 a.m.

Also on Sunday, Kid’s Christmas Eve practice at noon, followed by Christmas Eve worship practice at 12:30 p.m.

Activities for the next week include: Dec. 23, Women’s step study, 5:30 p.m., Men’s step study, 5:45 p.m., Celebrate recovery 6:30 p.m.; traditional Christmas Eve service at 3 p.m., contemporary Christmas Eve service at 7 and 11 p.m.
