Carbon County Friends of Animals has announced the following upcoming events. The shelter is located at 77 W. 13th St., Jim Thorpe.

• For the month of December, all cats and kitten adoption fees will be $30. This includes vaccination/spay when applicable. Cash and checks are accepted. Adoption hours are noon to 4 p.m. daily.

• The Harry Packer Mansion Nutcracker Tour fundraiser will take place from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 10. Tour the mansion, located at 19 Packer Hill Ave., Jim Thorpe. Officials ask that visitors bring monetary or items from the shelter’s wish list for entry. Wish list items include Purina cat and kitten wet food, rubbing alcohol and bleach, black and white trash bags, heating pads and compact humidifiers and volunteers.

• The shelter will hold an Erin’s Chocolate sale and Chinese auction from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 13, 14 and 15 inside the Carbon Plaza Mall, Lehighton.

• Pet photos with Santa ill take place at the shelter from 5-7 p.m. on Dec. 12; 3-6 p.m. Dec. 19 and 21; and 5-7 p.m. on Dec. 23.

• Pet Valu Adoption Day will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 14 at 1241 Blakeslee Blvd., Lehighton.

• The shelter will be closed Christmas Day.
