Jim Thorpe’s 38th Annual Olde Time Christmas is the place to celebrate the holiday season all December long. The celebration begins on Friday with the tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. in Josiah White Park. Events continue Saturday and Sunday, and through the following two weekends: Dec. 14-15, and 21-22.
A highlight is the Bach & Handel Chorale performance at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 21 Race St., Jim Thorpe.
The Jim Thorpe Camber Singers Strolling Carolers will be out on Saturday. The Faculty Brass Strolling Quartet will be featured on Dec. 14. The Christmas Kids Club at the Mauch Chunk Ballroom, where you will find an entire area dedicated just for the little ones. Step inside for photos with Santa, holiday movies, free crafts and entertainment and refreshments.
Horse-drawn carriage rides are also being offered through the picturesque town.
The fourth annual Cookies & Cocktails on Dec. 21, for all of the grown-ups on Santa’s Nice List.
