Thanks to the voters

The election board of Carbon County on Nov. 22 released the official ballot results of the 2019 municipal general election. While I lost the six-year East Penn Town Supervisors vote by a total of 461 to 217, I managed to obtain the majority of all write-in votes cast for the four-year East Penn Township Supervisor’s seat to be declared the winner.

Fifty-six write-in votes were cast for the four-year term East Penn Township Supervisor; of these, I amassed a total of 31 votes and was declared the winner. My reaction — while I am delighted at the win, I am just relieved that the drama and wait to know the results is over, and what is more, I am amazed at the unusual way this victory came for me. When I assume office, my mission will be to do the right thing for East Penn Township residents, taxpayers and be a watchdog looking after their interests.

I thank every voter who on Nov. 5 went to one of the two voting precincts in East Penn Township to cast their votes.
