Dimmick Memorial Library, 54 Broadway, Jim Thorpe has the following events.

• The library’s annual Gingerbread House Competition will take place throughout December. Entry drop off for the competition is Dec. 2. Pick up an application to enter at the library. There is no cost to enter and all ages may participate. Voting for this year’s winners starts on Dec. 3 and runs until Dec 19. The houses will be on display for the first two weekends of Old Time Christmas in Jim Thorpe. On Dec. 19, the library will award the prizes for the top three houses.

• Story-time will be held every Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. in the library. The themes will be Dec. 3, Family; Dec. 10, Traveling/Road trip; and Dec. 17, Christmas.

• A Night of Hygge will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Dec. 5. Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) is the Danish word for coziness and it’s their secret weapon against dreary winter nights. Recharge yourself with soft lighting, warm drinks and a good book at the library.

• The library board of directors meeting is on Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m.
