Seventy-nine garment workers were left jobless today when the Lansford Apparel, a division of Cinderella Clothing, closed its doors as decreed by the bankruptcy courts, according to plant manager Frank Pavlick.
Cinderella Clothing has been in Lansford since 1924. Children’s dresses and sportswear are basically manufactured at the landmark plant on Cortright Street, opposite the Panther Valley High School Stadium.
During peak production periods, the firm employed 480 people. In days gone by, it was known as “The Kiddie Kloes.”
