WEPOSC meeting
The West End Park and Open Space Commission is slated to meet at 6:30 tonight at the Chestnuthill Township Park in Brodheadsville.
Post 927 Auxiliary
The Auxiliary of Post 927 American Legion in Gilbert will meet at 7 tonight at the post home in Gilbert. For more information, call 570-242-0497.
Birding ID series
Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center and Pocono Avian Research Center are holding a Learn the Birds: Birding Identification Series, from 7 to 8:30 tonight. There is a cost, though center members are free.
For more information, call the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center at 570-629-3061, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
PVMS PTO meeting
The Pleasant Valley Middle School PTO is scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. Thursday.
Mission meal
The West End Mission meal, served at Our Lady Queen of Peace church, will be served from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Little League meets
The West End Little League board of directors will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Chestnuthill Township Park. It is a closed meeting.
The public meeting follows next Thursday, also at 7:30 p.m. at the Chestnuthill Park.
Senior Center
The Chestnuthill Seniors meeting at Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville, Wednesdays and Fridays can anticipate Tai-Chi with Dolores this Friday and a game of rummy next Wednesday.
The light meals are tuna salad, chickpea salad, nectarine, whole wheat roll and cookies on Friday, and turkey club wrap, pea salad, applesauce, crackers and yogurt for next Wednesday.
The regular fare for Friday is stuffed shells, California blend vegetables, spinach and an orange.
The next Wednesday menu regular fare is meatloaf, mashed potatoes, zucchini with red pepper, tropical fruit salad and whole wheat bread.
Choices must be called in to 570-420-3735 or 570-242-6770 by 11 a.m. the day before.
There is a suggested donation per person.
