Meed’s Memorial Church

Meed’s Memorial United Methodist Church, 126 W. Catawissa St., will host a free Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 24. Seating times are at 1, 3 and 5 p.m.

To make reservations for the Thanksgiving dinner, call the church at 570-669-9212 and leave your name, contact number and the number of people in your party.

Sunday services will be held at 11 a.m. Nursery and children’s Sunday school are available during the service.

The church also hosts a clothing ministry from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for Nov. 11-15 is:

Monday: Center closed in observance of Veterans Day.

Tuesday: Lemon fish, macaroni & cheese, stewed tomatoes, broccoli, ambrosia or harvest salad with chicken

Wednesday: Beef Dijon, au gratin potatoes, sautéed cabbage, spiced apricots or beef & spinach sandwich

Thursday: Creamed turkey, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, Jello or spinach salad with chicken

Friday: Pork & pea carbonara, spaghetti, Italian vegetables, fruit salad or beef & cheese sandwich

The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced upcoming events for Nov. 11-29.

Center closed Nov. 11; Entertainment by Tanya & Marge on Nov. 12 at 11 a.m.; Nickel-Keeno on Nov. 13 at 11 a.m.; Birthday Bingo on Nov. 14 at 10:45 a.m.; Sunshine Meeting at 10:15 a.m. followed by Yahtzee on Nov. 15.

Poker-Keeno on Nov. 18 at 11 a.m.; Cookie Baking on Nov. 19 at 9:30 a.m.; Cornhole on Nov. 20 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Nov. 21 at 10:45 a.m.; Movie & Popcorn on Nov. 22 at 10 a.m.

Now You Have It Now You Don’t on Nov. 25 at 11 a.m.; Surprise Box Bingo on Nov. 26 at 10:45 a.m.; Penny Game on Nov. 27 at 11 a.m.; Center closed Nov. 28 and 29.

Golden agers

The Panther Valley Golden Agers meeting is scheduled for Monday at St John’s Slovak Lutheran Church Social Hall beginning at 1 p.m.

A tribute with prayers and military songs will be made for all veterans, living and deceased, who fought to keep our country free.
