State police at Schuylkill Haven said a robbery and assault incident reported at a county day care center, has been determined to be a hoax.
Troopers said after a complete and thorough review it has been determined that the report by a 73-year-old Pine Grove woman that she was assaulted outside her place for work, the Little Angels Day Care Center, in Pine Grove Township, has been closed because no evidence has been found to support the victim’s report.
On Wednesday the Pine Grove woman told troopers when she arrived at the day care center about 7:12 a.m., and had exited her vehicle, an unknown man approached her and demanded money from her. She told the suspect that she had no money. She said the suspect emptied the bag she was carrying but no items taken. She even gave a description of the alleged suspect. She was flown to the Hershey Medical Center as a precaution for non-life threatening injuries.
Later on Wednesday a spokesperson for the day care center sent a Facebook message to parents saying that state police and medical personnel, who examined her, found no evidence to substantiate the report. The post said that the woman had been fired from her job at the day care center.
The name of the woman has not been released and it is not known if she will be charged for making a false report to law enforcement.
