McCall is best candidate for controller

Dear Editor:

I am writing a letter this evening in support of a Thomas J. McCall who is seeking the office of Carbon County controller next week. I have gotten to know him personally over the past five years, first as a friend and then in the spirit of running a bipartisan campaign to elect Dr. David Moylan to Congress in 2014. While that effort was unsuccessful, it did leave a lasting effect by kindling a working professional and personal relationship that has continued to this day in the spirit of mutual respect and fraternity.

Tom is a knowledgeable and hardworking man. We both believe in this county and its future and its need for modernization and growth into the 21st century. Tom brings with him extensive knowledge and project management skills in that arena, along with an understanding of financial systems and information technology that I think is critical to anyone seeking the position of controller in Carbon County in today’s world.

He understands the financial cycles as well as the potential technology and information security brings to such a position of responsibility, and I believe he can elevate that office to function efficiently and continue to oversee the systems that support and grow the fiscal health of this county.

We come from two different beginnings, but our thoughts transcend parties and politics, and I have grown to respect Tom and believe he is a great candidate for Carbon County controller. If you take the time to get to know him, I think you would agree that he is the best person for this position.

Sincerely,

David A. Wargo
