The Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club read books to the first-graders at the Lehighton Area Elementary Center for the club’s Reading Action Program. The Lions explained to the students the importance of reading books and how reading makes the mind grow and gives more knowledge about a person, place or thing. One student said, “Reading helps us use our imaginations!” After the stories were read, each student received a bookmark created by Lion Felicia-Sue Anthony, who also was one of the readers. Her mother, Sue Anthony, was the other reader and was honored that the elementary center invited the Lions to read.
