The cornerstone-laying ceremony of the Christian education building of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, of Parryville, was held with the Rally Day service in the church yesterday.
The rite was performed by the Rev. Merle R. Dech, pastor, with Fred Walck, of East Weissport, assisting. The cornerstone was donated by George Kobelka of Freeland.
The original church was built in 1896 and the new wing was started last July 24, when groundbreaking ceremonies were held.
Taking part in the program were Norman Brown, consistory president, Walter Bortz, Sunday school superintendent, and Robert Blank, of Palmerton, designer of the building.
