Fall Mini Carnival
Living Hope Lighthouse Church will be hosting their annual Light In The Night Fall Mini Carnival, from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Palmerton Borough Park. Activities include carnival games, face painting, bounce house, life-size candyland, hayride, crafts and prizes. Admission is free. Refreshments available. All prizes awarded at 8:15 p.m. at the Church, 705 Third St., in Palmerton. Live entertainment (skits & songs) will be held in the church beginning at 8:15 p.m.
Fall basket social
Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Trachsville, will hold its Fall Basket Social from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Will have theme baskets and raffle table ($25 hidden within three baskets). Homemade chow-chow, apple butter and candy sale. Door prizes at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Good food and bake sale. Come have lunch and try your luck
Quilt/Craft Lovers Bingo
A Quilt/Craft Lovers Bingo will be held at the Palmerton Area Library on Sunday. Doors open at noon, games begin at 1 p.m. Seating is limited. For ticket information, call the library at 610-826-3424. All prizes are quilted or craft items. Additional cards, raffles and snacks will be available. The event is hosted by the Sew What Quilt Guild and proceeds benefit the library.
Crop Walk
The Annual Crop Walk will be held in Palmerton on Sunday. The walk begins at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton. Registration begins at 1 p.m. There is a shortened route this year starting at St. John’s and ending at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lafayette Avenue. Refreshments will be served afterward.
St. John’s Lutheran
St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton will have worship services at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Adult Sunday school resumes at 9 a.m. Blessing of the Pets will be held at 1 p.m. A contemporary service will be held at 7 p.m.
Church bazaar
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., in Palmerton will hold its annual church bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Lunch bag raffle, crafts, jewelry, raffle ticket, white elephant sale. A bake sale including their famous molasses tongue cookies and apple dumplings. The kitchen will be open.
Class of 1955
Palmerton Class of 1955 will meet at 1 p.m. Oct. 18 at Eight Oak, 7189 Route 309, New Tripoli. For questions, call Dorothy at 610-826-4751.
Third Monday Book Club
The Third Monday Book Club will meet at the Palmerton Area Library, Delaware Avenue, from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 21. The group discusses a different book each month. The book for October will be “Beyond This Place” by A.J. Cronin. Call the library at 610-826-3424 for information.
Halloween parade
Palmerton’s annual Halloween parade will be held on Oct. 20 beginning at 4 p.m.
Anime Club
The Anime Club will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 15 at the Palmerton Area Library to watch popular Japanese animated series. Additional activities as time permits. For ages 13 to 18. All participants must have a completed permission slip.
Library board
The Library board of directors will meet at the library at 4 p.m. on Oct. 16. Meetings are open to the public.
Holy Trinity Lutheran
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold worship service at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday. This is the week of children’s special involvement in the service.
Living Hope Lighthouse Church
Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton will hold worship at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The annual congregational meeting will follow the worship service.
Comedy night
St. John Neumann Regional School is holding a comedy night to benefit the school on Oct. 18.
The event features comedians Eric Tartaglione and Joseph Anthony. Tartaglione is known for his original stage show “My Big Fat Dysfunctional Life” and Sirius/XM comedy channels. Anthony was a finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and has appeared on ABC’s “The View.”
The doors open at 6 p.m. at the East Penn Community Center, 403 Blue Mountain Road, off Route 895, in Ashfield.
