Several workers were not seriously injured after the bucket truck they were riding in rolled over Wednesday morning in Franklin Township.
Township police Chief Jason Doll said the incident occurred at 11:33 a.m. in front of 500 Overlook Dr. when a Penn Line Service tree trimming truck was pulling a wood chipper.
“The driver stated that he had lost his brakes coming down the hill, and when he got to the bottom, he couldn’t negotiate the curve, and it rolled over on its side,” Doll said.
Doll said there was a driver and two passengers inside the truck who were not from the immediate area.
He said that only minor injuries were sustained, and everyone declined emergency medical services.
Doll said the truck was heavily damaged and had to be towed.
He said the scene was cleared at 2:05 p.m.
“There was a lot of fluids from the truck; it took a while to clean it up,” Doll said. “Everything was on the road, cleaned it up with Speedy Dry.”
He said the Franklin Township Fire Company, Lehighton Ambulance, and Franklin Township fire police also assisted at the scene.
